Irene Theresa (Stangl) Underberg, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Strunk) Stangl, was born April 22, 1916, in Halbur, Carroll County,Iowa. Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Peterson and husband Jack of Springville; sons, John Underberg of Union and Mark Underberg of Eagle Grove; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Bauer of Racine, WI and sister, Mabel Weatherman of Springfield, MO. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Eagle Grove.
