Glenn O. Dencklau, 92, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. A service honoring Glenn's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 13, at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Van Nostrand officiating. Interment will follow in Colfax Township Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post No. 1856 and the Iowa Army National Guard. The visitation is Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.

Glenn is survived by his daughter-in-law Mary Dencklau, Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Ali, Shelly, Sonja and Scott; seven great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; his siblings, Willard (Rosie) Dencklau, Humboldt; and Irene Lindsay, Sterling, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Irma, his son Danny, his parents, his brothers, Clifford, Otto Jr., Robert, Sonny and Roger; and his sister Dorothy Maage.

Glenn Otto Dencklau, the son of Otto and Florence (Modler) Dencklau was born February 4, 1921 in Carlton, Minnesota. Glenn attended Colfax Township Schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. In 1945, Glenn was united in marriage to Irma Hansch at St. John's Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in Colfax Township near Vincent until moving to Fort Dodge in 1984. Glenn was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
