Williams, IA -- Ruth Dickson, age 89, died on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at her home in Williams. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Williams with burial in the Williams Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Williams.

Ruth Irene Dickson was born on January 3, 1922 to Theron and Agnes (Madden) Kellogg in Williams, IA. Ruth attended country school at the end of their lane and graduated from Radcliffe in 1939. After high school, Ruth took the six weeks Normal Teacher Training at Iowa State. On June 20, 1943, Ruth was united in marriage to Clyde Everett Dickson at the United Methodist Church in Williams. Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Women, a life long member of the United Methodist Church in Williams, and was a long time 4-H leader.

Ruth is survived by a son Harold (Jean) Dickson of Germantown, TN; a daughter Virginia (Delmon) Carter of Williams, IA; three grandsons Conan (Kristy) Dickson of Baltimore, MD, Murry (Rebecca) Dickson of Huntsville, AL, and David Carter of Williams, IA; two granddaughters Joy (Boe) Sroggins of Alden, IA and Michelle Carter of Williams, IA; and a sister June Wilson of Hubbard. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Clyde on February 12, 2000, her parents, and a sister Ethyl Martin. Memorials may be directed toward WesleyLife Hospice Care in Ames, IA or the United Methodist Church in Williams, IA.
