November 7, 1879 --- March 19, 1917

Mrs. Fred Gugger who has long been a sufferer from cancer, passed away at her home west of town Monday morning. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon and the obituary will be published next week.

Mrs. Lena Gugger (nee) Schlegel was born in Hanover, Germany Nov. 7, 1879 and passed away Monday A. M. March 19, 1917 at the age of 37 years, 4 months and 12 days, in her home near Renwick, Ia. She came to America in the spring
of 1902, having been a member of the Evangelical Association before leaving Germany. She was united in holy wedlock with Fred Gugger Nov. 10th, 1904. To this union were born 5 children, Elizabeth aged 4 years having preceded her in death a little over a year ago. She leaves to mourn her departure husband, 2 sons Fred and Ernest, 2 daughters Metta and Rose, mother, 3 sisters, 1 brother and many friends. Words can not express the heartfelt sympathy of the friends of our sorrowing brother and his family. And we cry out: O God! help us to see and know that all things work together for good, to them that love God. She has gone to be with God, and those who have gone before, and is waiting to welcome us.
