Fred Gugger Dies

Funeral services for Fred Gugger were held at the Methodist church, Sunday. April 22 at 2 o'clock, Rev. H. L. Sunderman was in charge. Mrs. Dick H. Hefty and Mrs. Francis Krause sang, "Ivory Palaces" and "Nearer Still Nearer" with Mrs. Bygness at the organ. Bearers were Marx Schwyter. John Baumgartner, George Mills, George Markman, Chris Schneider and Frank French. Mr. Gugger was born in Switzerland Nov. 18, 1870 and passed away at Mercy hospital, Fort Dodge, April 19, 1951. He came to the United States in 1901 and lived in the Renwick community since 1901. Those who mourn his passing are his faithful wife, Bertha; his children, Fritz of Renwick, Mrs. Metta Luchsinger of Long Beach, Calif., Ernest of Gardena, Calif., Mrs. Rosa Ogan of Hardy; six grandchildren; and three brothers, Karl, Jacob and John in Switzerland.
