June 13, 1847 --- March 18, 1917

Jacob Bram was born June 13, 1847 at Kanton, Glarus, Switzerland, and fell asleep in the Lord, March 18, 1917 in his home, Renwick, Ia., at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 5 days. Mr. Bram came to America in the spring of 1868. He was married to Miss Fannie Stauffacher of Lansing, la., on Thanksgiving day of 1871. To this union were born 5 boys and 4 girls. He joined the church in 1890 and remained a faithful member unto his death. He was preceded in death by two sons; "one in his infancy, the other Matthew at the age of 16" and his faithful wife, who passed away Oct. 18, 1915, just 1 year and 5 months ago. He leaves to mourn his departure; 7 children, Mrs. Emma Bram, Irvington, Ia; Mrs. Bertha Baumgartner, Humbird, Wis; Henry and Fannie Bram, Renwick, Ia: Jacob Bram, Beardsley, Minn; Peter Bram, Storm Lake, Ia; and Mrs. Anna Jutte, Webster City, Ia. One sister, Mrs. Barbara Klasse, 15 grandchildren and many friends.

The wonderful faith shown on his death bed will be most comforting to those he has left behind. He quoted 2nd Timothy 1:12, "For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day." His last exhortation to his children was "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you." He has gone before, and we mourn not as those who have no hope; to us it is but another hand beckoning us to come up higher.
