January 2, 1841 ---- March 20, 1912

Levi M. Langstaff -- Died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H.L. Harrison, 2201 E. Ocean Ave. Born Jan. 2, 1841, at Brooklyn, Penn. Served for 4 years in the 3rd Iowa regiment, reaching the rank of captain. Moved to Charles City, Iowa in 1868 and engaged in mercantile business. Moved to Belmond, Iowa, Hampton, Iowa, Independence, Iowa, Los Angeles, California, and settled in Dubuque, Iowa, where he worked in the wholesale grocery business. His father, John Langstaff, was born in England. He married Clara Harriman in 1870 in Charles City, Iowa. Survivors include his widow and children: Mrs. Kate Rood of Portland; Mrs. H.L. Harrison of Long Beach; Percy Langstaff of Sioux City, Iowa; Harold Langstaff of Bronson, Iowa; and Robin Langstaff of Omaha, Nebraska. Near relatives include Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Clock, 1927 E. 2nd St. and Mr. and Mrs. T.G. Harriman of 2291 E. Ocean. Burial in Sunnyside Cemetery, Long Beach, California.
