October 2, 1859 --- September 19, 1940

Mrs. Manie Ferguson Lamos, daughter of Joseph P. and Persis Everett DeLaMater Ferguson, was born in Clarence, Oct. 2, 1859, and passed away in Highmore, South Dakota, Thursday, Sept. 19, 1940, at nearly 81 years of age. She was educated in the Clarence schools and received further schooling in a state school and taught in the Clarence schools at one time. In 1883 she was united in marriage to Aldis L. Lamos at Clarence. Her early married life was spent at Clarence and at Baker City, Oregon, where Mr. Lamos was employed. From a residence of 14 years at Highmore, S.D., they moved to Eagle Grove in 1910. Here Mr. Lamos died in 1926.

Since the death of her husband Mrs. Lamos has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Sheen, at Highmore. Besides her daughter, she is survived by a granddaughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Lynn of Spokane, Wash.; a brother, J. P. Ferguson, of 67 North Wilson avenue, Pasadena, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. J. A. Flansburg, of 516 12 street N. W., Mason City; and Mrs. Josie Messinger, of Armour, S. D.; a nephew, J. E. Flansburg of Glenn Ellyn, Ill.; and a niece, Mrs. Veva Christianson, of Mason City. Of these people, Mrs. Sheen and Mrs. Christianson, were present at the funeral which was held at the Eagle Grove Congregational church on Sept. 21. Burial was in the family lot at Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove.
