The funeral of Calla Amelia Helmer, who died at her home in Carancahua, Tex., Wednesday morning, May 11, 1910, was held Thursday afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Helmer. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J. T. H. Miller, of Palacios, assisted by Rev. Geo. Whyman, of Ohio. Interment took place at Palacios cemetery.

On January 8, 1909, the family moved to Carancahua, Tex., where Calla's death occurred at the age of 28 years, 6 months and 5 days.
She leaves to mourn her loss a father, mother [nee Mary Lilley], seven sisters and a brother, Mrs. L. Brown, Keokuk, Ia., Mrs. C. L. Rasmussen, Mrs. J. B. Rasmussen, Mrs. John McCutcheon and Mrs. John Pehl, of Goldfield, Ia., Mrs. L. J. Slaikeu and Miss Pearl Helmer, of Carancahua, Tex., and Geo. A. Helmer of Webster City, Ia., besides numerous relatives and friends who, knowing her well, loved her.
