MRS. HELMER OF ROCK ISLAND IS TAKEN BY DEATH

Mrs. Alna A. Helmer, 69, of 748 23rd St., Rock Island, died at 9:42 last night in Moline Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 Saturday afternoon in the Esterdahl Chapel with the Rev. Charles Hollis, pastor of the Moline Gospel Temple officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery, Rolfe. Friends may call after 4 tomorrow afternoon at the chapel.

Mrs. Helmer, the former Alna A. Tubbs, the daughter of Herbert and Lola Tubbs, was born April 28, 1890, in Rolfe, Iowa. She was married to George A. Helmer in 1910 in Goldfield, Iowa. She came to Rock Island from Palmer, Iowa, in 1939, and was a member of the Moline Gospel Temple, the Women's Bible Class of the church, the DAR and the Trinity Chapter, Order of Eastern Star of Davenport.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leo Rollings, Bettendorf, and Mrs. Walt A. Carlson, Rock Island; a son, Furman, Moline; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Elmer, Rolfe, and Marshall, Rapid City, S.D., and three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Barbour, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Irene Russell, Humboldt, Iowa, and Mrs. Zelma Edinger, Medical Lake, Wash. Her husband preceded her in death
