Leland Dale Caquelin, 63, Allison a former Woolstock-Webster City area resident, died Monday, Aug 6, at Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Foster Funeral Home of Webster City, Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Graveside flag-folding services will be conducted by American Legion Post 191 of Webster City. Visitation at the funeral until time of service.
Leland Dale Caquelin, son of Lee and Marie (Little) Caquelin, was born Sept. 17, 1926, on a farm northwest of Blairsburg. He attended rural schools, and graduated from Woolstock High School in 1934. He was then employed at the Shepherd Caterpillar Company in Lancaster, Calif. He married Teresa Binando on Dec. 11, 1953, in Lancaster. He served with the U.S. Army from 1955-1957, in France and Germany. He returned to Lancaster and was employed at Shepherd Caterpillar until 1970, when he moved back to Iowa, where he was employed as a welder and mechanic.
He is survived by a son, Kirk Caquelin, Berkeley, Calif.; his mother, Marie Caquelin, Mitchellville; three sisters, June (Mrs. James) Osboe, Allison; Carol Kalver, Des Moines; and Rochelle (Mrs. Robert) Harris, Mitchellville. Mr. Caquelin was preceded in death by his father in 1967.
