Lena A. Gordon, 95, of Jacksonville, MO, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012, at her home. She was born on February 24, 1917, in Dows, IA, the daughter of Herman and Olga Theresa Marie (Braun) Sporaa. Lena was united in marriage to George L. Gordon on September 5, 1944, in Seattle, WA. She was a certified Med-Tec at Loch Haven Nursing Home for several years. Lena enjoyed crocheting, knitting, the outdoors and flowers. She is survived by three children; Theresa Severson of Scarville, IA, Randall Gordon and his wife, Jeraldine of St. Louis, MO and Orrena Martin of Columbia, MO; by eleven grandchildren, Curtis, Julie, Lyle, Monty, Faith, Alena, Sabrina, Keith, Alisha, Kathryn, and Michael; several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, several step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. Lena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George on August 31, 2001; three step-children, Raymond, Dale and Edward and three brothers, Carl, Oscar and Fred. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 12:00 noon at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Bro. Jim Bolin officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Salem Cemetery [Excello, Missouri]. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service on Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Salem Cemetery.
