BLOOD POISONING PROVES FATAL

Shoe Repairman Dies of Infection From Face Pimple – Buried Saturday

Chris Christensen, who for a number of years has been employed as shoe repairer in Christensen's shoe store, died in the hospital at Iowa City last Thursday. He had been taken there for treatment for blood poisoning which resulted from an infected pimple on his face. Funeral services were held Saturday. The relatives have the sympathy of everybody in their sorrow.

Christian Martinus Christensen was born at Gandrup, Denmark, January 29, 1868, and died at the hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, April 15, 1926, aged 58 years, 2 months and 17 days. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, and on September 13, 1896, he was married to Miss Anne Petrine Jensen. On July 30, 1917, he emigrated with his family to the United States and came to Ames, Iowa, where they stayed only a few weeks, coming to Eagle Grove, where they have lived since, Mr. Christensen being employed at the C. Christensen shoe store. He is survived by his wife and five children, Holger, Harold, Hakon, Bernhard, and Carla. He also has one sister still living in Denmark. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the home on South Lucas Avenue and from the East Side Lutheran church. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
