GOLDFIELD - David Lynn Hansen, the son of Alvin C. and Ruth E. (Rasmussen) Hansen, was born on June 7, 1956, in Clarion Iowa. He lived at home until 1963 (age 7), when he became a resident of Woodward State Hospital and School in Woodward. In July of 1989, David moved to Northwoods Living in Fort Dodge, where he currently resided. David passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the age of 56 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include 4 siblings: Dianne Klasse and husband Ron of Fort Dodge, Mark Hansen and wife Mona of Goldfield, Steve Hansen of Cedar Rapids and Carolyn Hansen of Ramona, CA; Aunts, Arlene Sampson of Goldfield and Millie Hansen of Fort Dodge; Uncle, James Rasmussen and wife Jeanette of Elkton, VA and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2012, 2:00 P.M. at Lake Lutheran Church, rural Renwick, with Pastor Truman Larson officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Northwoods Living in Fort Dodge.
