EAGLE GROVE - John Allen Morgan, Jr., the son of John A. and Ovedia (Halgrim) Morgan was born on December 1, 1951, in Fort Dodge, Iowa and was raised on the family farm near Thor. He attended school in Thor and Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove "Class of 1970". John then attended I.C.C.C. in Eagle Grove and Waldorf College in Forest City. On September 9, 1972, John was united in marriage to Gayle Dooley in Eagle Grove. They made their home and raised their family on the family farm near Thor, until John retired from farming in 2007 and they moved to Eagle Grove. John was an avid sports fan who loved coaching baseball and enjoyed all kinds of hunting with family and friends.

John passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge at the age of 61 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Morgan and brother-in-law, Phil Nelson.

John is survived by his wife Gayle Morgan; three sons: Linc Morgan and wife Myndi and their children, Laine and Blake of Eagle Grove, Tate Morgan and wife Anna and their children, Jaxon, Caden and Drake of Eagle Grove and Boone Morgan and wife Lindsay of Eagle Grove and their children, Mack and Mya; brother, Ronnie Morgan and wife Shirley of Eagle Grove; sister, Mary Middleton and husband Harold of Clarion; sister-in-law, Diana Morgan of Goldfield; mother and father-in-law, Marvin and LaVonne Dooley of Eagle Grove; sisters-in-law: Bonnie Nelson of Independence, DeDe Wagner and husband Jim of West Bend, WI and Kathy Hinderaker and husband Dale of Radcliffe; brothers-in- law, Tim Dooley and wife Barb of Eagle Grove and Dan Dooley and wife Mindy of Emmetsburg and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Richard Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
