Wilma (DeRuischer) Luchies -- Went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2011. During her 89 years she faithfully followed the Lord's call as it unfolded in her life; first in training as a nurse, then serving beside her husband, Rev. Vernon Luchies, in ministry. She loved and nurtured her family and faced both health and sickness with quiet surrender that spoke deeply of her trust in life and in the Lord of Life. On March 22 she and Vern would have celebrated their 60th anniversary. Wilma will be deeply missed by her husband and by her children, Sharon Scheenstra (Rich), Ron Luchies (Sandi), Ken Luchies (Janet), and Joy Rose (Joe); her 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and many others. A memorial service will be held at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 2857 S. 11th St., Kalamazoo, MI on Wednesday, March 9 with visitation from 10 to 11 and service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Lending Hands or Hospice.
