Ralph “Andy” Andrich, 89, died December 14, 2012 at the hospital in Belmond. Services were held December 21 in Omaha with interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

Ralph “Andy” was born March 29, 1923 in Boulder, CO. He was raised in Wyoming where his father worked as a civil engineer at a hydro electric plant. Andy worked on numerous ranches while growing up, loving his western clothes, boots and cowboy hats. Ralph served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years a chief aviation machinists mate in World War II and the Korean War. He served on many battleships and aircraft carriers, his favorite being the USS Palau. Significant awards he earned were the Navy Unit Commendation (3) and the Navy Good Conduct Medal (5). Following his retirement from the Navy he drove for Continental Trailways for many years. He was a member of Omaha VFW Post 2503, serving as captain of the honor guard from 1991-1993. He was very fond of his beloved pet Murphy.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alice, and his grandson John Erickson of Belmond. Ralph is survived by his daughter JoAnne Erickson, and granddaughter Dulcie Erickson and her children Amber and Logan, all of Belmond; nephew Bond Mixon; and niece Carol Lane (Bud) Everette.
