Obituary of Mrs. A. S. Tooley

Clara Christena Johnson was born in Westorviak Sweden in 1862 and came to Eagle Grove, Wright county, Iowa, when she was 25 years old. Upon coming to this country the family took the American name of Fisher. She was united in marriage to A. S. Tooley on September 2, 1891, at Thor, Iowa. Seven children were born to this union, two of whom proceeded her in death, Anna, who died in infancy and Oscar A. at the age of twenty years. Besides her husband, five children live to mourn her passing, Mrs. Laura E. Schlichting of Mawvoo, Ill., and Frank, Daniel H., Mabel M. and William, all of Maple Hill. There is also a brother, Carl and a sister, Ellen, in Sweden. Mrs. Tooley died May 12, 1932 and was laid to rest in the Swan Lake Cemetery. Mrs. Anna Fisher, a sister-in-law, and her two sons, Roy and Carl of Eagle Grove, attended the funeral.
