Dale John Bemrich
September 17, 1930 --- December 31, 2012

Dale J. Bemrich, 82, of Independence, Iowa, died Monday evening, December 31, 2012, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa.

Dale was born on September 17, 1930, in Clare, Iowa the son of John J. and Esther M. (Collins) Bemrich. He was a 1948 graduate of the Mallard High School Mallard, Iowa and was united into marriage to Ruth E. Stafford on August 1, 1951. Dale farmed in the Mallard for a few years then he owned and operated Dale’s DX Service Station prior to becoming employed as a district salesman with the New Holland Company for 33 years prior to his retirement in 1991. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Independence, Iowa. He was a avid golfer, and loved to travel with his wife Ruth. The couple loved to winter in the Apache Junction, Arizona.

He is survived by his wife Ruth of Manchester, Iowa, four children; Darrell (Mary) Bemrich, East Moline, IL, Diane Bemrich, Independence, IA., Jerry (Patti) Bemrich, Scottsdale, AZ, and Deb (Dan) Toale, Independence, IA, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a sister; Mary Esther Rooney, Dyersville, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, January 3, 2013, in the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, IA, with Sharon Bainbridge officiating. Burial will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Belmond, IA. Friends may call from 11 AM Thursday till services at the funeral home.
