Clinton L. Anderson, age 62, of Dows, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at St Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN. Memorial services for Clint Anderson will be held at 11:00A.M. at the First Lutheran Church in Dows. Pastor Ron Nelson will officiate. A private family burial will take place in the Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 A.M. until service-time at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials may be made in Clint Anderson’s name to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dugger Funeral Home, 100 North Lee Street in Dows.
Clinton, the son of Orlo and Lucille Moore Anderson was born August 21, 1950 in Iowa Falls. Clint grew up on the family farm east of Dows, where he attended school. He graduated from the Dows High School in 1968. Clint then attended and graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Science in 1972. He moved back to Dows and began his farming career. Clint was united in marriage to Mary Nielsen on September 24, 1977. The couple made their home on the family farm. Clint and Mary spent their entire married life farming together. They made their home on the family farm where Clint grew up. Clint and Mary were blessed with two daughters, Karla and Laura. Clint loved farming, but he was passionate about golf. He spent innumerable Thursday afternoons on the golf course with his brother, Dave. Together they made an unbeatable team. Clint was an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Dows.
Clint is survived by his wife, Mary, daughters, Karla and Laura of Windsor Heights, mother, Lucille of Hampton, sister, Janis Shimp and husband, Dennis of Venice, FL, sister-in-law, Linda Anderson of Williams, brother, David Anderson and Marsha of Clarion, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Dallas.
