Funeral Services Are Held Tuesday For Tony Rozeboom, 74

Funeral services were held at the Carmel Reformed Church in Carmel at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, December 24, for Tony W. Rozeboom, 74, of Carmel, who died at the Sioux Center Community hospital, Saturday, December 20, after a lingering illness with cancer. Services were conducted by the Rev. Brook Stephens and burial was made in the Carmel Cemetery under the direction of the Cooperative Funeral Home.

Mr. Rozeboom was born September 6, 1894, at Harrison, S. D., He was married to Jennie Roskamp, December 10, 1914, at Wright County, Iowa, where they lived for 5 years and then moved to the Carmel area, where they farmed until 1948. He then worked for the Cooperative Gas and Oil Company here until his retirement. Mr. Rozeboom was active in church work, serving for many years as an elder, Sunday School teacher and catechism teacher. He also served on the County Board of Education.

Survivors include his widow, two sons, Tunis of Zeeland, Mich., and Roy of Boyden; 7 daughters, Marie (Mrs. Bernard Mouw) Sheldon; Pearl (Mrs. Albert Timmer) Sioux Center; Kathryn, (Mrs. Jake Wielenga) California, Wilma, (Mrs. Al Tiemeyer) of Caledonia, Mich., Margaret, (Mrs. Sid Brock) Grand Rapids, Mich., Arlene, (Mrs. Ralph Punt), Maurice; and Marilyn (Mrs. Leroy Vander Esch) of Port Huron, Mich.; 2 sisters, Mrs. H. K. Pals of Pella and Mrs. Peter Roskamp of Edgerton, Minn., and 1 brother, Rich Rozeboom, of Sioux Center; 40 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
