Ronald E. Wharton, 81, of Hampton, Iowa passed away Monday, October 29, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, Iowa. He was born August 3, 1931, in Franklin County to Ray and Ruth (Holmes) Wharton. Ron graduated from Rowan High School in Rowan, Iowa. On March 30, 1952, Ron married Norma Muhlenbruch in Latimer, Iowa. He worked as a dairy farmer until his retirement in 2004. Ron was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer, Iowa and a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League and Aid Association for Lutherans. He loved to travel and play golf. Ron is survived by his daughter Barbara (Andy) Selking of Ft. Worth, Texas, daughter Bonnie (Rick) Oudekerk of Des Moines, son David (Lisa) of Mason City, grandchildren Mark (Lauren) Selking, Spencer and Kiley Wharton, sisters Marjorie Wheeler of Morris, Minnesota, Joan Andreasen of Algona and Jean Markham of Fieldon, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and one sister.

Services on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 1:30 PM, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 304 West Main,
Latimer, Iowa. Burial will take place at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Latimer, Iowa.
