Dennis Ray Weide, age 60 of Faribault, MN and formerly of Meservey, IA died unexpectedly on Monday, November 12, 2012 at his home. An informal celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Meservey, IA. There will be an open house in celebration of Dennis’ life on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 1 to 5 p.m. at 920 Edgar Place in Faribault.

Dennis Ray, the son of Fred and Edna (Wessels) Weide was born on October 23, 1952 in Belmond, IA. He graduated from Meservey –Thornton High School in Meservey, IA. He had a lifelong passion for truck driving, classic cars and 50’s & 60’s music. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his significant other, Shelley Nelson of Faribault; two children, Denise Ryun of Swaledale, IA and David (and Amber) Weide of Sheffield, IA; five grandchildren, Bryce, Cheyenne, Cassidy, Ciarra and Alexandria; four siblings, Larry (and Diane) Weide of Clear Lake, IA, Darwin (and significant other, Deb) Weide of Mason City, IA, Jerry Weide of Mason City, IA and Sharon (and Gerald) Bailey of Belmond, IA; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Macy Gatton and two siblings, Fred Weide, Jr. and Garry Weide.
