Elizabeth A. DeMeules, age 76, of Belmond passed away Friday November 9, 2012 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Memorial services for Elizabeth A. DeMeules will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday November 13, 2012 at the Dugger Funeral Homes, 111 Luick's Lane South in Belmond. Pastor Dana Wendel will officiate. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 A.M. until service-time at the funeral home on Tuesday. Dugger Funeral Home in Belmond is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Ann, the daughter of Floyd and Katherine Ross Beardshear was born August 9, 1936 in Silex, MO. After living in several mid-west communities, her family moved to Mora, MN. In Mora, she attended school. Elizabeth graduated from Mora High School in 1954. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Donald Jean DeMeules in 1954. Don and Elizabeth made their home in Minneapolis. Together they were blessed with three children, Donald, Alys, and Edith. The couple later divorced. Elizabeth lived in the Twin Cities for fifteen years. In 1970, she and the children moved to the Goodell and Meservey area. Elizabeth began working as a nurses-aid, first at the Concord Care Center in Garner and later the Belmond Health Care Center. She retired in 2007. Elizabeth was living in Belmond at the time of her passing. Elizabeth is remembered as an avid reader and gardener. She enjoyed crochet and working on puzzles. Elizabeth liked crafts and shopping.

Elizabeth is survived by her three children, Donald and Bernice of Warren, MI, Alys DeMeules and Sky Nesset of Belmond, Edith Hall and Steven of Owosso, MI, five grandchildren, Justin (Lea), Alan (Christina), Andrew (Amber), Ashley (Sean), Erin (Jeremy), two great grandchildren, Ethan and Ilianna, three sisters, Margaret Labauex, Helen Sommers, Dorothy Creech (Lavern), one brother, George Beardshear (Beverly), and numerous other nieces and nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Alys Kay, two brothers, Charles and Freddy.
