WAVERLY - Marie Everhard, 76, formerly of Waverly and Eagle Grove, died Sunday, Nov. 4, at Shell Rock Healthcare Center, Shell Rock. She was born Feb. 20, 1936, in Eagle Grove, daughter of William and Elsie Loux Thebiay. She married Leo Everhard on Sept. 21, 1968, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Webster City. Mrs. Everhard graduated from high school in 1954, then worked for Security State Bank, Eagle Grove, until 1966. She was a member of Lutheran Churches, Missouri Synod, most recently in Waverly. Survived by: her husband; a son, Richard (Laurie) of Waverly; and two grandsons. Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, with inurnment in Harlington Cemetery, both in Waverly. Kaiser- Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is assisting with arrangements.

Marie Everhard, 76, of the Shell Rock Healthcare Center, and formerly of Waverly and Eagle Grove, Iowa, died early November 4, 2012, at the Shell Rock Healthcare Center, in Shell Rock, Iowa.

Marie was born on February 20, 1936, in Eagle Grove, the daughter of William and Elsie (Loux) Thebiay. She grew up in Eagle Grove, and graduated from high school in 1954. Following graduation, she worked for Security State Bank in Eagle Grove, until 1966.

On September 21, 1968, she was united in marriage to Leo Everhard, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City, Iowa. Marie and Leo raised their son in Eagle Grove, and moved to Waverly in July of 2010. In June, 2012, Marie became a resident of Shell Rock Healthcare Center.

Marie was a lifelong active member of Lutheran Churches, Missouri Synod, most recently in Waverly. Over the years, she played the organ, taught Sunday school, and participated in women's groups. She also enjoyed crafts, especially needlework. She often made items to donate for church fundraisers.

Marie is survived by her husband, Leo, her son Richard (Laurie) of Waverly, grandsons Luke and Adam of Waverly, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Marie's body has been cremated, and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church in Waverly, with Pastor Matthew Versemann officiating. Following the service burial of cremains will be at Harlington Cemetery, in Waverly. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is assisting the family.
