Robert Harrison Herrmann, the son of Abe and Anne (Golbek) Herrmann, was born May 5, 1935, in Avard, Oklahoma. Robert was united in marriage to C. Kay Reida on March 13, 1952 in Harper, Kansas. Bob worked as a roughneck in the oil fields of Kansas and Wyoming and after the couple moved to Eagle Grove in 1964 he worked for Farmland Industries for 30 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bob enjoyed going to auctions, collecting coins, puttering around the house and his old Chevy truck "Blackie". He also liked caring for the neighborhood cats – feeding about 12 of them.

Robert passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa at the age of 77 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 5, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be Sunday 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 5:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Herrmann of Eagle Grove; two daughters, Dawn Norton and husband Bill of Boone and Robyn Robb of Des Moines; son, Monty Herrmann of Kearney, NE; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Herrmann of Alva, OK and four sisters, Peggy Beck and husband Larry of Waynoka, OK, Janice Leatherman of Treece, KS, Edna Hill of Waynoka, OK and Loretta Perrone of Chickasha, OK.
