Funeral Services For Lee O. Potter Held Wednesday

Funeral services for Lee O. Potter, retired Renwick area farmer, who was killed Saturday night when he was struck by a car, were held Wednesday, June 12, 1963 at 2 p.m. in the Linhardt Funeral home at Humboldt. The Rev. Beaty McDonald, pastor of the Methodist churches for Renwick and Hardy officiated. Burial was in the Vernon cemetery.

Mr. Potter was struck and killed about midnight while crossing Highway 3 east of Dakota city. Leland Perkins, 19, was the driver of the vehicle that hit Potter. Perkins has been working at Cherokee. He is formerly from Corydon. Dr. James Coddington, medical examiner was called to the accident scene and pronounced Potter dead.

Mr. Potter was a lifelong resident of the Renwick and Hardy area. He married Anna Madison of Hardy who survives. Other survivors are three children, Carroll of Hardy, Kenneth of Norwalk and Mrs. Floyd Lane of Humboldt. Three grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Mr. Potter also has one brother and two sisters, Florell of Rapid City, S. Dak., Mrs. Harry Krutsinger and Miss Genie Potter, both of Linwood, Calif.
