LAST RITES HELD SATURDAY FOR FORMER RENWICK RESIDENT

About 15 years ago the Clarence Black family of Renwick moved to Rockwell City. Since that time Mr. Black was employed as a carpenter at several state institutions, at Eldora at Mt. Pleasant and recently at Anamosa.

Wednesday, as he was going to his work, he became suddenly ill, after eating his meal he felt better, but the chaplain urged him to consult a doctor and offered to accompany him, but Mr. Black felt that he could go alone. On his way he staggered and within an hour he passed away, the cause of his death being an acute heart attack.

He was brought to Eagle Grove where his mother and two sisters live and from where funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral Home with the Methodist pastor, Rev. Dawes officiating. Pallbearers were his cousins, Arthur Stauffucher, Fred Gugisburg and S.H. Klassie of Renwick, Lloyd Walkner of Hardy, Lawrence Klasse of Westbrook, Minn., and a friend, Roy Kellogg of Anamosa. Burial was at Vernon Cemetery at Renwick.

The remaining immediate relatives are his mother, Mrs. Christina Black and his sisters, Mrs. Clarence Clark and Mrs. Harry Bonwell, all of Eagle Grove; his sister, Mrs. A.H. Stafford of Renwick, his wife and his six children; Mrs. Margaret Robinson, Perry; Mrs. Donabella Barbour, George; Harriett, Katherine, Jerilyn and Clarence Jr., of Rockwell City.
