Marilyn Leigh Prescott, age 79, of Ackley, formerly of Popejoy, died on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday July 13, 2012 at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Alden with burial in the Alden Cemetery in Alden.
Marilyn Leigh Prescott was born on December 27, 1932 to Ferol and Ruth (Long) Neely in New Hampton, Iowa. Marilyn attended Oakland Township schools and graduated from Popejoy High School. Marilyn was united in marriage to Alfred Prescott on June 19, 1952 at Camp Roberts, California. She was a member of the Popejoy United Methodist Women and the Flying Farmers of Iowa. Marilyn is survived by her husband Alfred; her son Ron (Deb) Prescott of Ames, IA; her daughter Carol (Mark) Hilz of Argyle, TX; her brother Larry (Lois) Neely of Iowa Falls and her sister Sheryl (Richard) Orr of Warrensburg, MO. 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lynn Neely.
