Anthony Jay Morphew "Tony", 56 years of age passed away on May 13, 2007, at Mary Greeley Medical Hospital in Ames, Iowa, after a short battle with cancer. A celebration of Tony's life was held in Ames on Wednesday May 16, 2007, burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion, Iowa.

Tony was born May 11, 1951, to Mary Anne and Leonard Morphew, of Eagle Grove, Iowa. Tony grew up in Eagle Grove and attended the Eagle Grove Community Schools. Tony also lived in Clarion and Belmond, Iowa for a number of years. Tony had lived in Ames and worked at Mainstream in Ames for the past four years.

Tony is preceded in death by his father Leonard Morphew, brothers Jim and Mike, his sister Barb, and his grandparents, Anna and Stephen Trausch, Virginia and Merrill Surber, and Joseph Morphew. He is survived by his mother Mary Morphew of Clarion, Iowa, his sister Jane Wright of Forest City, Iowa, and sister-in-law Chris Morphew of Madrid, Iowa. Tony is also survived by his nieces and nephews Anna Travis, Heather Morphew, Joe Morphew, Laila Buck, Brooke Johnson, Emily Clausen, and Mick Wright.
