Rites Monday For Donald McVicker

Services for Donald McVicker, 53 were held Monday, July 15, at 2 o'clock at the Eyler Funeral Chapel. The Rev. E. C. Allen, Methodist pastor officiated and burial was at Clarion Evergreen cemetery. Ira Donald McVicker, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude D. McVicker, was born at Eagle Grove, Iowa, on April 13, 1910 and passed away at his home in Clarion, Iowa, on July 11, 1963. He was employed by the Wright County Rural Electric Cooperative for 25 years as a line superintendent. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, the Veterans Foreign Wars and the Clarion Methodist Church. He had served for 23 years on the Clarion Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, five children, Margaret Joyce (Mrs. Ed.) Thomas of Goldfield; Sharon (Mrs. Bob) Crosby of Woolstock; Sandra (Mrs. Lester) Nicholl of the Great Lakes Naval Station; Alberta and Donald of Woolstock; two step daughters, Kandee and Kelly Jo; seven grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude D. McVicker of Eagle Grove; and six sisters, Florence, Mary, Martha, Beth, Claudia and Kaye other relatives and friends. A son, Claude David preceded him in death.
