MRS. GEO. JAMES DIED MONDAY A.M.

Funeral for Well Known Octogenarian Held Wednesday Afternoon

Mrs. George James died at her home on West Broadway Monday morning, June 1. She had been in poor health for several months and her passing was not unexpected. All of her six children were with her during her final and fatal hours of her sickness. Mrs. John Brown having arrived from California to assist in her care last week.

Obituary

Sarah Stanley, daughter of Samuel and Melinda Stanley, was born near Rushville, Fayette county, Indiana, April 3, 1843. She came with her parents to a homestead farm west of Renwick, Iowa, in 1856. On November 7, 1869, she was united in marriage with George James in Humboldt county. They lived in Humboldt county until they moved to the home place near Eagle Grove in 1893. Here they lived until Mr. James passed away. For the last few months Mrs. James with her two sons, has been living in Eagle Grove on West Broadway. It was here that she entered into the life beyond, Monday morning, June 1, 1925, at the age of 82 years, 1 month, and 28 days.

Her home has been blessed with six children, two daughters and four sons: Mrs. Adelle (John L.) Brown of Hollywood, California; Wilbert E. of Eagle Grove, Charlie of Troy township, Mrs. Etta (Sam) Middleton, Walter S., and Edwin M. of Eagle Grove. Mrs. James spent her life making a good home for her husband and family and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. "Her children rise up and call her blessed."

Her church affiliation was with the Universalist church. The funeral was from the home Wednesday afternoon and the interment was in Rose Hill cemetery. Rev. Richard S. Haney, officiated and the quartet from the Congregational church sang.
