Ex-Woolstock Man Dies at Age of 75

WOOLSTOCK — Walter G. Claude, 76, a resident of Woolstock township for many years until moving to Webster City 28 years ago, died Saturday afternoon at the Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks, He had been in poor health for two years. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the French church east of Woolstock, and burial was in the French church cemetery, Born at Chetopa, Kan., Jan. 15, 1880, he moved to Iowa, when about three years old and grew to manhood in the Woolstock community. After his marriage to Lydia Schoenenberger Jan. 18, 1905, they lived on a farm in the Woolstock community for many years, before moving to Webster City. He has been engaged in the trucking business. He was active in building and organizing the French church. He is survived by one daughter, one son, five grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
