YOUTH, CRUSHED BY TREE, BURIED

Funeral Held at Woolstock for Joseph Schutt, 17, in M. E. Church.

EAGLE GROVE, Jan. 11. — Funeral services were held today for Joseph Lyle Schutt, 17, who was
killed Tuesday afternoon by being crushed by a falling tree, on the farm of his father, four miles south of Eagle Grove. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schutt. The youth was assisting others in the felling of a large tree, which struck him, crushing his chest. Joseph was a graduate of Woolstock high school, class of 1932, and was 17 last week. He is survived by his parents, four sisters: Mrs. Vena Schultz, on a farm near her parents' home; Mrs. Marie Callies of Webster City; Evelyn and Berenice at home, and one brother, Ernest, at home. Burial was in the French Lutheran cemetery near Woolstock, preceded by funeral services in the M. E. church at Woolstock, in charge of the Rev. William Baddeley of Luverne, formerly of Woolstock. Wesley Schultz was injured in the accident but his injuries were not considered critical.
