Private services for Johannes Appel, 66, of 1514 -1/2 Pine Ave., who died yesterday in a local hospital, will be conducted at Dilday Chapel. Rev. William H. Galbraith will officiate. Friends are asked to omit flowers and to send money to the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children. A carpenter, Mr. Appel was born in Amsterdam, Holland, and came to Long Beach 20 years ago from Eagle Grove, Ia. He was a member of Local 1140, Carpenters Union, San Pedro. Surviving are the wife, Alice May; sister, Mrs. Bessie Overwig, Holland; niece, Mrs. Lucille M. Graham: nephew, Melvin Moran, both of Long Beach.
