Mrs. Susie Zablow, 71, died Saturday in a local hospital. She was in Long Beach visiting a daughter. Born in Austria-Hungary, Mrs. Zablow lived in Eagle Grove, Ia. Surviving are the husband, Steve; daughters, Mrs. Mary Spetzman, of Long Beach, Mrs. Flora Leary, of Eagle Grove; sons, Clarence, Leo, John. Services and interment will be in Eagle Grove. Mottell's Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.

Susie, daughter of Jacob and Maria Esauk was born on April 25, 1882 in Austria-Hungary. She passed away suddenly at the St. Marys Hospital, Long Beach, Calif., on June 13, 1953 having reached the age of 71 years, 1 month, and 18 days at the time of her passing.

Her daily life was spent with her parents in Austria-Hungary and she grew to adulthood there. On April 25, 1902 she was united in marriage to Steve Zablow and to this union 7 children were born, six of whom survive.

They came to America in 1905 and settled in Penn. and later moved to Iowa in 1910. They came to Eagle Grove in 1928 which has been her home ever since. She was a member of the Methodist church, and Class 16. A charter member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Steve, and four sons, Nicholas, Austria, Hungary, John J. Zablow of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Clarence N. of Rapid City, S. D.; and Leo of Brookings, S. D. Also two daughters: Fiera, Mrs. Wm. F. Leary of Eagle Grove, and Mary, Mrs. A. J. Spetzman of Long Beach, Calif. Six grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. One son, George, passed away in infancy.

Mrs. Zablow was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved her children and loved her Church. Her ready smile and wonderful disposition will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her, to know her was to love her.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 17, 1953 at the Methodist church, Eagle Grove, Iowa with Rev. H. G. Dawes, officiating. Interment was held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.
