Funeral services for Mrs. Cecil A. Whisler, age 46, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home and the body will be taken to Winterset, where the funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. at Grace Baptist church. Rev. Milford Olson of Blairsburg, Rev. Frank Wood of Woolstock and Rev. Shute of Winterset will officiate. Burial will be made at Winterset. Mrs. Whisler was killed in a car accident July 27 [1954] at Kamloops, B.C., Canada.

Lucy Elizabeth Fitzgerald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Fitzgerald of B.C., Canada, was born Sept. 19, 1907 at Wapello county, Iowa. When she was six months old, she moved with her parents to Canada where they resided until she was five years old. At that time the family returned to Iowa where they resided for one year, later returning to Canada. She was reared and educated at Alberta Province.

She was united in marriage April 20, 1927 to Cecil A. Whisler at Stetler, Alberta, Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Whisler resided there until the fall of 1928 when they moved to a farm southwest of Woolstock. In 1930 they returned to Alberta, Canada, where they resided until the fall of 1937 at which time they returned to Iowa, making their home in the Iowa Falls and Alden communities. In March, 1953, they moved to a farm near Winterset, their home since.

Mrs. Whisler is survived by her husband, two sons, and three daughters: Mrs. Marlin (Mildred) Rasmussen of Mountainburg, Ark., where she and her husband are in missionary work, Carol, Miriam, Lawrence and David, all at home. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Fitzgerald of Fort Langley, B.C., and one granddaughter, Judith Rasmussen, 7 months old. Also surviving are five brothers and two sisters, all in Alberta and B.C.; Mrs. John McAllister, Mrs. Walter Bredlow, Walter, Joe, Emmet, Floyd and Melvin Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by one twin daughter, Emily Caroline who died in infancy.

In 1933 while living in Canada she accepted the Lord as her Saviour and was later baptized in the Christian faith. She was a dual member of Grace Baptist church in Winterset and the Christian Missionary Alliance church at Blairsburg.

LOCAL FARM WIFE KILLED IN CANADA

Mrs. Cecil Whisler of near Winterset was killed Tuesday afternoon in an automobile accident in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Mrs. Whisler, her husband and her aunt were in Canada to visit Mrs. Whisler's father when the accident occurred. According to reports reaching here Wednesday, Mr. Whisler received minor injuries in the accident but is not hospitalized. The aunt however was seriously injured in the crash. She is from Webster City, Ia.

Mrs. Whisler is survived by her husband and five children. The Whislers moved to a farm two miles east of Winterset from Iowa Falls about two years ago.

Mrs. Cecil Whisler of near Winterset who was killed Tuesday of last week in an automobile accident in Canada was to be returned to Winterset this Wednesday for burial. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Webster City. The body was to arrive here Wednesday afternoon and services here were to be held from the Grace Baptist church at 3 p.m. conducted by the pastor, the Rev. E. C. Shute. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
