Cleo E. Carr, 83, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away July 14, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, Iowa. She was born September 13, 1928, in Clarion, Iowa, to George and Edna "Marie" (Larson) Gangestad. Cleo graduated from Clarion High School in Clarion, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Arnold Robert Carr on August 13, 1947, in Sheffield, Iowa. Cleo worked at Maytag for twenty three years and retired in 1988. She was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. Cleo loved entertaining family and friends, traveling and camping with Arnie, feeding and watching birds. She also loved all sports, crocheting afghans and was active at the Hampton Senior Center, but Cleo's true love in life were her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Bob) Cauwels of Ellsworth, Minnesota, son Bob (Wendy) Carr of Lancaster, Missouri, son Roger (Jami) Carr of Holland, son Ric Carr of Pulaski, son Rex (Loretta) Carr of Hampton, sixteen grandchildren and thirty six great grandchildren. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers Donald and William. Burial will take place at the Rowan Cemetery in Rowan, Iowa.
