Floyd LeRoy Goff, 69 of Holden, Missouri passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit. Floyd was born May 4, 1943 in Clarion, Iowa son of Ernest G. and Dorothy E. (Otterness) Goff. He was raised in Minnesota and Montana. He moved to the Kansas City area in 1966. Floyd was united in marriage to Mary Sue Shed on August 21, 1976 in Claycomo, Missouri. The couple moved to Holden in 1981. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years. For the past ten years, Floyd owned and operated Goff Construction Co. He was a member of Local #101, Operating Engineers. His hobbies included creating accurate replicas of well known historical buildings out of match sticks. He also was an “Electronics Junkie.” When it came to anything electronic, Floyd always insisted on the latest and greatest items available.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son: Ernest Goff of Miles City, MT; five stepchildren: Ron Davis and wife, Karen of Holden, MO; Brenda Coughlin and husband, Matthew of Pensacola, FL; John Davis of Kansas City, MO; Tracy Messer and wife, Vicky of Kansas City, MO; and Steven Messer and wife, Anna also of Kansas City, MO; two sisters: Judy Brush and husband, Melvin of Miles City, MT and Carol Nemi also of Miles City, MT; a brother: Jerry Goff of Miles City, MT. thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents; three brothers: Donnie, Bobby and Jimmy; and an infant granddaughter: Heather Goff.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Holden with Pastor Justin Locke officiating. There will be a private interment in the Pittsville Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
