May 13, 1897 --- November 3, 1953

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Funeral rites will be Thursday at 1:30 p. m. at the home and at 2 at First Lutheran Church for Everett Steward, 56, who died of carcinoma Tuesday morning at his farm here south of St. Ansgar; burial in First Lutheran Cemetery.

He was born May 13, 1897, at Galt, Iowa, to Henry and Mary Steward. He accompanied his parents to the Northwood community in 1915. He served in World War I, and later farmed. In 1930 he married Alma Schultz of St. Ansgar, and they established residence on the parental Henry Schultz farm south of St. Ansgar. He leaves his widow, six children: LeRoy, just discharged from overseas duty; Doris, a nurse at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo; Eugene, Merlene, Merle, and Betty Jean, all at home; six brothers, Orville, Garner; Walter, Burt; Lloyd, San Francisco, California; Orel, Chicago; Harold, Burt, and Ralph, Anchorage, Alaska; five sisters, Mrs. Anton Pannkuk, Kanawha; Mrs. John Henning, Minnehaken, Indiana; Mrs. Lars Kvelo, De Forest, Wisconsin; Mrs. Arlene McCauley, Burt, and Mrs. Myron Meinzer, Dexter, Minnesota.
