She was surrounded by her family and many friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, at First Grace Baptist Church, Sheffield, with the Rev. Ken Livingston presiding. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, Sunday, at the First Grace Baptist Church. Retz Funeral Home, Sheffield is handling arrangements.
Jennie, the daughter of Craig Pearce and Diane Kraling, was born on December 8, 1976, in Iowa City, Iowa. Jennie attended school in Plymouth and Mason City, Iowa, and graduated in 1995 from Belmond-Klemme High School in Belmond, Iowa. Jennie then attended La'James School of Cosmetology in 1995 and worked at Good Shepard Care Center as a nurse's aide. It was in that year that she met the love of her life and future husband Brian Bonjour. They were married in 1997 and to this union they were blessed with three children, Justin, age 14, Joseph, age 11, and Amber, age 9. She worked for two years at Casey's General Store as an assistant manager in Sheffield. She was known for her constant smile and friendly attitude towards all of her customers. In the spring of 2003 she had her first surgery. By 2004 she had applied for, and was accepted to, the nursing program at North Iowa Area Community College. While attending school she worked at Franklin General Hospital and the Rockwell Care Center. The progression of her disease resulted in her having to suspend her dream of becoming a flight nurse; a dream that she never gave up and passed on to her daughter, Amber.
Jennie was known to be a friend to all. Her devotion to Jesus Christ her Savior and her family were second to none. She was very active in church even as her disease progressed. She was a Cubbie's leader at AWANA's at the First Grace Baptist Church in Sheffield and took great joy in singing with various church groups as well as doing solos. Singing in church was not the only outlet for her angelic voice. She also loved to sing karaoke - with family and friends. Jennie's other passions included: time spent at her family's log cabin built by her grandparents and great aunts and uncles in Northern Minnesota, camping and fishing at Beeds Lake with Brian and the kids, Christian concerts with friends and relatives, as well as being a help to any and all. Her powerful legacy will live on in each of the lives she touched over the years.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Brian, three children; Justin, Joseph, and Amber. She also leaves behind her mother Diane Kraling of Mason City and father Craig Pearce (Lori Odom) of Kensett, five siblings: Craig Pearce Jr. of Mason City, her identical twin Patricia Pearce of Mason City, Emily Pearce of Mason City, Molly Kraling of Joplin, Mo., and Loretta Kraling of Mason City, four nieces: Cierra, Sarah, Alexis, and Madeline and one nephew Mathew, all of Mason City. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles as well as her many treasured friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Louis and Patricia Bram, and paternal grandparents Al and Marie Pearce.
