Donald L. Meyer, 80, of rural Iowa Falls, passed away Thursday, May 10, at his home. Funeral services for Donald Meyer will be 11:00 am Monday, May 14, 2012 at the First Christian Church, 221 Fischer Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa with Pastor Bruce Klapp of the Abundant Life Chapel officiating. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, May 13th at the Linn's Funeral Home 1521 Washington, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Abundant Life Chapel, P. O. Box 79, Dows, Iowa 50071. Private family burial will be at the Grant Township, Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Franklin County, Iowa.

Donald Lavern Meyer was born May 25, 1931, at Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Lavern and Mabel [Doidge] Meyer. He attended country grade school and graduated from the Geneva High School. Donald served his country in the United States Army. On January 21, 1961, Donald was united in marriage to Nancy Cora Cook at Iowa Falls, Iowa. To this union five children were born: Julia, Joan, Nicholas, Christopher, and Betsy. Donald farmed on Highway 65 north of Iowa Falls for many years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Abundant Life Chapel, Dows, Iowa, and the American Legion.

Donald L. Meyer is survived by three daughters: Julia [Jeffrey] Forgy of Dows, Iowa, Joan [Dennis] Barrick of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Betsy [Chris] Jess of Alden, Iowa; a son: Christopher [Teresa] Meyer of Iowa Falls, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters: Marian Sanders of Alden, Iowa, Jeanne [John] Burger of Zephyr Hills, Florida; and a brother: Larry Meyer of Iowa Falls, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lavern and Mabel Meyer; his wife: Nancy Meyer; a son: Nicholas Meyer; and a great- granddaughter: Miracle Lynn Steen.
