December 16, 1930 --- April 4, 2012

BELMOND, IA - Marjorie "Marj" Estella Trees, age 81, died April 4, 2012, at the Belmond Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services are Tuesday, April 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the Clarion Church of Christ located at 420 N. Main St., Clarion, Iowa. The Reverend Warren Curry will be officiating the service. Interment will follow the service at the Belmond Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, April 9, at Andrews Funeral Home, 516 First St. S.E. in Belmond, from 5 to 7 p.m. Those wishing to express their sympathies in memorials may wish to consider either the Belmond Boy Scouts or the Belmond Medical Center.

Marjorie Wigg was born on Dec. 16, 1930, to Racine Wigg and Estella Hansen in Clarion. She was the sister of Phyllis, Robert and Donna. Marj attended school in Clarion. She enjoyed roller skating at the skating rink at Lake Cornelia where she met the love of her life, Paul Trees. On July 30, 1948, Marj and Paul were united in marriage. To this union they were blessed with five children: Candace, Terry, Cynthia, Michael and Diane. Marj spent her life taking care of her beloved family. She worked hard around the farm preparing hearty home-cooked meals. She was also well known for making delectable desserts including fudge, coconut cookies, pecan tassies, plum pudding and anise candy. Marj enjoyed playing cards, finding a good Sudoku and doing crossword puzzles from the paper or reading a good book. She excelled at crocheting, quilting and was an exceptional seamstress. She created many of her own family's wedding dresses. Marj was a member of the I.O.O.F. organization at Rebekah Lodge where she was a past Noble Grand. Paul and Marj enjoyed numerous fishing excursions to Canada with friends. Marj was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed bird watching in Missouri as well as her home. Being with family and friends is what Marj truly loved. She was always known to be in attendance at a good neighborhood pig roast or fish fry. Marj loved her life to the fullest and loved to have fun. She enjoyed caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marj's love and memories will continue on in the hearts and minds of her children, Candace (Ron) Fjetland, Clarion, Mike (Colleen) Trees, Belmond, Diane Erickson and friend Bill Keeling of Mason City, son-in-law Neal Rabe and fiancé Tina Cook of Belmond; grandchildren, Buffy (Ralph) Ramon, Daniel (Candace) Fjetland, Mark Fjetland (Stacy Snyder), Jeff (Kari) Rabe, Krista Hartwig and fiancé Nate Ysker, Tyler Trees, Justin Trees, Spencer Trees, Jennifer (Mike) Countryman, James Erickson and Keyra Cook; great-grandchildren, Chelsie, Lucas, Andrew, Madison, Elic, Alianna, Molly, Ryan, Kamryn, Jackson; sister Phyllis Arthur; sisters-in-law Imogene Wigg and Marlyn Trees; and brother-in-law Alan (Alice) Trees. Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Racine Wigg and Estella Hansen, husband Paul, son Terry Trees, daughter Cynthia Rabe, brother Robert Wigg, sister Donna Orte and brother-in-law Tim Trees.
