STERLING, IL – Elmer Jensen, 94, formerly of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Sterling Pavilion. He owned and operated Jensen Liquor Store in Morrison with his wife for 13 years, retiring in 1977. Elmer was born April 19, 1917, in Klemme, Iowa, the son of Martin and Laura (Larson) Jensen. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force. He married Violet Ingalls on Nov. 28, 1964, in Osage, Iowa. She died March 11, 2012. Survivors include three daughters, Victoria (Dave) Ricketts of Savanna, Sandi Ryan of Rock Falls and Peggy Jensen of Virginia; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eva Taylor; and one brother, Melvin Jensen. There are no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rock Falls.
