Maxine M. Anderson, 89, of Webster City, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Willer officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery prior to the service. Visitation will be at the church, Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday until 10:00 a.m. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Maxine Mae Miller, daughter of Ira and Libbie Petersen Miller, was born May 5, 1922 at Webster City. She received her education in the Webster City school system, graduating from Lincoln High in 1939. She attended Webster City Junior College receiving a teaching certificate and taught in rural schools. On June 9, 1945, she married Grant Harry Anderson at Seattle, WA. Following Grant's discharge from the U.S. Navy they moved to Highview. Maxine taught at Woolstock, Blairsburg, Duncombe and Jewell for nine years. They then worked together in their farming operation. Grant died May 31, 1998. She resided at Highview and Webster City.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughter, Jann Anderson of Webster City, grandchildren, Shelly and Eric Hanson of Webster City; Kurt and Anne Arends of Webster City; great-grandchildren, Sam McNally and Aidan Hanson; Grant, Allison and Madelyn Arends; six nieces and seven nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lyle and Verne Miller and sister, Ruth Elkin. Maxine was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, active in church circles, the Fall Festival and church historian; WDK Club and P.E.O. chapter NR.
