Wayne C. Neese, 92, of Webster City, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. David Simonson officiating. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, and prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Wayne Clare Neese, son of Eli and Esther Olson Neese, was born July 8, 1919 in Stratford, Iowa. He received his education from the Stratford Community Schools. On June 19, 1938, he married Stella M. Bernard in Fort Dodge. The couple resided in Webster City where Wayne was employed for Beam manufacturing (Electrolux) until 1944. From 1944 to 1946, he honorably served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theatre of Action. Following his discharge, Wayne returned to the Webster City, Williams and the Woolstock area where he farmed until 1970, when the couple moved to Woolstock where he was employed for F.G. Jones Implement. He retired in 1993 and moved back to Webster City in 1995. Survivors include his loving wife, Stella of 73 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and David Kaus of Urbandale; Pam and Gary Sigler of Oak Hills, CA; grandchildren, Steve Kaus, Amy Witt, and Joe Quam; great-grandchildren, Audry Kaus, Emily and David Witt; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Gwen Neese of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Virgil Neese; sisters, Eunice Bergman and Pearl Hoshaw. Mr. Neese was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #191, both at Webster City.
