WODEN, IA -- Funeral service for O'Dessa Lorraine Pals, 90, was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 11, in the Woden Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Kevin Jordan officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Britt, the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home of Titonka in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Harlan Eckhoff, Albertus Kruger, Ron Eden, Clarence Herringa, Dennis Kruger and Roger Seefeld.

The daughter of Otis and Eva Johnson Anfinson, O'Dessa Lorraine was born December 25, 1912, at Jewell, IA. She was raised in the Britt and Woden areas and graduated from Britt High School. O'Dessa then taught country school in the area. She later graduated from Iowa State Teachers School and taught at Charles City and Kanawha. O'Dessa was married to Carl Pals on June 23, 1950 in the Prairie Center Church of rural Britt. They began to farm northeast of Wesley and several years later, farmed southwest of Woden until retiring in 1986. They moved into Britt. She enjoyed raising plants, reading and music. Her loves were her family and especially her grandchildren.

O'Dessa L. Pals died October 8 (2003), in the Titonka Care Center where she had been a resident since April of 2002. She is survived by three children, Jean Pals, Columbia, SD; Dennis Pals and his special friend, Donna Nelson, Titonka; Bruce and Renee Pals, Titonka. There are four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband who died April 14, 2002; her parents and a brother, Don Anfinson.
