Funeral services for Albert J. Jackson, 85, of Hampton, father of Mrs. P. T. Struck of Clarion, were held Thursday afternoon at the Green funeral home at Hampton at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. D. M. Beggs, pastor of the Congregational church of Hampton in charge. Burial was in the Hampton cemetery. Mr. Jackson died of a heart attack Tuesday, Oct. 20, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Albert J. Jackson was born April 1, 1868, in West Branch, Cedar county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jackson. When he was about two years old,, he moved with his family to Franklin county and had since made his home in Hampton. For 50 years he was employed as county bridge foreman. He retired April 11, 1949. On Feb. 25, 1891, he was married to Miss Lida Westaby at Hansell. After their marriage they lived in Alexander for nine years, then moving to Hampton where they resided in the same home for 53 years. To this union six children were born, one son preceding his father in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters, one brother and a grandson, Dallas Jackson, who died in World War II.

Surviving are his wife, and three daughters, Mrs. Avis J. Streeter of Charleston, S. C., Mrs. J. H. Milton of Chehalis, Wash., and Mrs. P. T. Struck of Clarion and two sons, Claude Jackson and Charles W. Jackson of Hampton. Also surviving is a brother, George W. Jackson, of South Houston, Tex., three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America for 58 years.

The three daughters were there for the funeral services: Mr. and Mrs. P. T. Struck and Gretchen of Clarion, Mrs. Avis J. Streeter of Charleston, S. C., and Mrs. J. H. Milton of Chehalis, Wash. Others from Clarion who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Thompson, Mrs. Lynn Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Allen, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Hoyt, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Norum, Mrs. R. G. Bird, Mrs. C. H. Crowe, Mrs. B. A. Samson, Mrs. Walter Schuenboff, Mrs. C. E. Campbell, Mrs. W. M. Trowbridge, Mrs. J. H. Eyler and Mrs. S. J. Shupe.
