RENWICK - Gordon Gerald Brock was born May 13, 1922, at Northwood, Iowa, to Glen Cooley Brock and Pearl Elizabeth (Reed) Brock. He moved to the Hardy-Renwick area as a small child and graduated from Vernon Township School. He married Ruth Esther Steffen on July 3, 1966, at Renwick. The couple farmed until retiring and moving to Humboldt. Gordon served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. Gordon was an active member of the American Legion for over 50 years.

Survivors include two step-daughters, Frances Kraft and husband Bill of Renwick, Iowa and Ruth Kennicker of Bella Vista, Arkansas, as well as five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Also surviving is nephew, Greg Brock and wife Sandi of Texas; niece Debra and husband Craig Jorgenson of Des Moines, Iowa and niece Pam and husband Chris Connelly of Rogers, Arkansas. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Esther on January 31, 2010, brother Richard Brock and grandson Aaron McDermott.

Visitation is today from 5:00 7:00 PM at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Renwick. Funeral services will be held at United Methodist Church, Renwick, Iowa, Wednesday, January 4, 2012 10:00 A.M. with internment at Vernon Township Cemetery, Rural Hardy, Iowa.
