David E. Keeton, 72, of Stacyville, IA passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Riceville, IA. Friends may call from 4 to 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home 407 Woodland Ave. Riceville, IA 50466.

David E. Keeton was born on May 1, 1939 in Goldfield, IA to James Sr. and Stella (Wilder) Keeton. On July 26, 1975 he married Shirley Smith in Fountain, MN. Dave worked for the railroad and enjoyed collecting Northwestern railroad memorabilia. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog Muffy, collecting old radios, antiques, and old cars. Dave made many trips to the Diamond Jo Casino and various casinos to try his luck gambling and eat at the buffet. He loved socializing with people and attending family gatherings.

Dave is survived by his children, Tom (Vickie) Caswell of Mason City, IA, Chuck (Linda) Caswell of Walhalla, ND, and Sherry (Robert) Kruse of McIntire, IA; his grandchildren, Christina (Justin) James of St. Ansgar, IA, Sarah (Kyle) Hobbs of Orchard, IA, Michael (special friend Laura House-Jarvis) of Staceyville, IA, Ashley Caswell of North Branch, MN, Brandie (Aaron) Hoven of North Branch, MN and Nathan (Tanya) Caswell of Rochester, MN; great grandchildren, Jase, Jax, Taylor, Carsyn, Lilly, Kaden, and Katrina; his brothers, James (Mary) of Norfolk, VA, John Edward of Panama City, FL, Marshall of Riceville, IA; his sisters, Ruth (Everett) Beals of Chariton, IA, Carolyne (Larry) Bliven of Rudolph, WI, Judy (Kenny) Portis of Riceville, IA, Lois (Albert) Winkels of McIntire, IA and Ruby Losee of Riceville, IA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by, his parents, his wife, Shirley, son, Carroll, a sister, Nancy, grandson, Matthew, and granddaughter, Alyssa. Memorials may be given to the Wayne Baptist Church in McIntire, IA.
